Calvary Christian Center is a group of regular people trying to know and grow in a very extraordinary God. We exist to offer an environment that will allow you to fully understand what it is to have a relationship with God while you learn to live expressing his love, as he has loved you. If you are new with us we are so glad you have stopped by. Feel free to plan a visit and let us know you’re coming to a service!

What to Expect

Our Sunday morning services include inspirational and modern worship music, creative use of visual arts, and challenging yet relevant messages for today’s world. Our service starts at 10am, we would invite you come a couple minutes early to grab a beverage at our coffee bar and join us! Dress at Calvary is beyond casual; you need only come as you are! When you arrive you will be greeted with smiles and members ready to answer any question you have.

We exist to help people discover God through worship. The way we propose this is for everyone to attend and participate in a weekly worship service. Currently we offer weekly worship services on Sunday mornings at 10 A.M. We offer a new modern musical worship experience to help connect us to God.
We encourage nurturing by building new relationships through teaching & fellowship. Home and Church groups will focus on growing a believer’s faith while growing their relationships in a Biblical and holistic way. Currently we offer groups on Sunday mornings at 10 A.M. and Wednesday nights at 6:30 P.M.
We practice action through serving in effective ministry. Serving God through gifts, talents, and passions in the church, to the community, and around the world. Many options exist, new and established, in the scope of ministry of the Church.

Church History

Calvary Christian Center has a rich history in the Pottstown area. It started with services in a tent back in the 1930’s then moved into the old Mercury Building, which was on Beech Street. In 1952 Reverend Sparks bought the old School house located on Laurelwood Road in Pottstown Landing at a pubic auction, which is the church’s present location and pictured above. Services were held in the one room schoolhouse but additional space was needed. n the 1960’s the building
was almost doubled in size. An office was added to the end of the building and the low ceilinged basement was dug out by hand, and the dirt was wheel barreled out making way for a concrete floor and space for five Sunday School rooms. In 1970 the present auditorium was built along with another Sunday school room under the church platform. The church celebrated 75 years of serving God and the community in 2014. During that time it has had three different names; Calvary Pentecostal Church, Calvary Assembly of God and Calvary Christian Center and has had 11 pastors. Pastor Robin will be celebrating his 26th year as the lead pastor in December of 2018.

Moving to the future

We may have changed paint and fixtures in the building. We may have moved the entrance and expanded the nursery to make it larger. We may have added lighting and effects and a louder sound system. But the fact of the matter has never and will never change. We unashamedly proclaim the name of Jesus and want to make that perfectly clear. The soul purpose of Calvary Chrsitian Center is to allow the atmosphere for anyone to discover God, Nurture growth, and serve Jesus.
